How does a recalibration of the WebLog sensors work?
In accordance with the contractual agreement, as a WebLog customer you will receive newly calibrated replacement sensors with the corresponding calibration certificate every 2 years. These sensors are labeled with the same name as the ones you have in operation so that you can carry out the replacement correctly and the data recording is continued without gaps. The newly calibrated sensors will be shipped to you from stock ready for operation, which means that these sensors have not been in operation between the calibration date and the renewed 2-year use.
What does the included calibration certificate mean?
Each certificate contains essential information regarding the calibration date, the device ID and the calibration temperatures. Furthermore, you should be aware that a calibration certificate is a snapshot and, for obvious reasons, does not make any statement about how a sensor will measure at a later date. The measurement quality can be affected if our sensors are subject to higher or unexpected mechanical stress, for example if they have often been exposed to extremely fluctuating temperatures or even shocks (drops).
How long is the calibration certificate valid?
The certificates themselves do not have an expiration date. ICU tech GmbH strives to ensure that the calibration date is no more than 3 months ago when the newly calibrated sensors are delivered. We would like to point out that in recent years, for logistical and operational reasons, individual certificates have been issued up to 6 months in advance. In any case, the sensors themselves are in use for a maximum of 2 years and are then replaced.
Can sensors also be replaced annually?
This is possible for a surcharge on the basic fee and makes sense as soon as sensors are exposed to very high alternating temperatures or are used in experimental environments. Another scenario can also be installations whose temperature monitoring is subject to stricter official requirements. If this applies to you, please let us know.
